WINDOW CONSTRUCTION
WINDOW TECH SYSTEMS' DOUBLE HUNG WINDOWS CONTAIN A FRAME, TOP & BOTTOM SASH ENCASING INSULATED GLASS UNITS, BALANCE SPRINGS, AND HARDWARE COMPONENTS.
HARDWARE UNITS CONSIST OF ONE OR MORE LOCKS & KEEPERS AND TWO SASH RELEASE HOUSING UNITS. THE KEEPER IS ATTACHED TO THE BOTTOM RAIL OF THE UPPER SASH AND THE LOCK ALONG WITH THE SASH RELEASE UNITS ARE ATTACHED TO THE MEETING RAIL OF THE LOWER SASH.
OPERATING THE SASH
OPERATION OF THE TWO SASH FOLLOWS:
1. ROTATE THE HANDLE OF THE LOCK TO UNLOCK THE WINDOW.
2. BOTH SASH ARE FREE TO MOVE IN A VERTICAL DIRECTION. USE ONLY THE FORCE NECESSARY TO MOVE THE SASH TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE BALANCE SYSTEM AND SASH PARTS.
3. EACH SASH IS ATTACHED TO SPRING BALANCES, WHICH PERMIT THE SASH TO REMAIN STATIONARY IN ANY OPEN POSITION.
4. THE REVERSE PROCEDURE IS TO BE EMPLOYED TO LOCK THE TWO SASH.
CLEANING PROCEDURE
WINDOW TECH SYSTEM'S DOUBLE HUNG WINDOWS CONTAIN TILT-IN SASH, WHICH ARE DESIGNED TO BE CLEANED INSIDE & OUTSIDE FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE.
1. RELEASE THE LOCK AND RAISE THE LOWER SASH TO 4 TO 6 INCHES.
2. SLIDE BOTH LATCHES OF SASH RELEASE UNITS TOWARD CENTER OF WINDOW TO RELEASE THE SASH.
3. TILT-IN THE LOWER SASH.
4. LOWER THE UPPER SASH UNTIL ITS BOTTOM RAIL IS ABOUT 3 INCHES ABOVE THE RAIL OF THE LOWER SASH.
5. TILT-IN THE UPPER SASH.
6. CLEAN THE EXTERIOR SURFACES OF BOTH TILT-IN SASH.
7. TILT BOTH SASH INTO FULL UPRIGHT POSITION. SLIDE MEETING RAIL LATCHES INTO THEIR CLOSED POSITION. BOTH SASH NOW ARE POSITIONED TO OPERATE VERTICALLY FOR OPENING AND CLOSING.
8. CLEAN THE INTERIOR OF BOTH SASH.
9. LOCK THE CLOSED SASH.
